The Process: We are not a vineyard; however, we use grape juice and juice concentrates from both domestic and foreign vineyards. Wines at Ridgeback Winery are made under a different concept than that of traditional wineries. Our winery follows a pre-designed process that is performed as the owners work through the entire wine making cycle, on small different wine batches of the same varietals. We also produce small quantities of Reserve Wines that under - go a second malolatic fermentation that results in a smoother taste.
 

Ridgeback Winery is a private company owned by the Thompson family of Longwood, Florida.  The Thompson's have two big loves: their dogs, Rosco and Zanta, and wine.  They decided to expand their hobby of home wine production into a business, naming it after the dog breed they so enjoy.
 
The Ridgeback Winery manufactures and sells hand-crafted mid-priced wines made from imported and domestic juices and juice concentrates.  Wines produced by the Ridgeback Winery are only available at its tasting room
 

The Ridgeback Winery offers customers wine manufactured in hand-crafted batches of the highest quality ingredients taking care to maintain the highest processing standards possible. The satisfaction of the customer is our main goal.
 

The Rhodesian Ridgeback, named for its distinguished marking down the back, is one of only a few breeds of dogs that originate in Africa. A sturdy breed, the Rhodesian Ridgeback was used in packs to hunt lions and hold them at bay until the lion was killed by the hunter.
